Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a renowned spiritual leader, expressed his sorrow over recent attacks on a Hindu temple in Canada, a nation known for its history of unity and multicultural acceptance. His statement calls for peace and accountability, reflecting the deep respect for diverse communities that Canada has upheld for generations.
“For generations, Canada has been a place where people of all backgrounds and faiths have lived together in peace and harmony,” he stated. “It is deeply disheartening to witness the recent attacks on a Hindu temple in such a country. These acts must be condemned by all. We must ensure that such incidents are not repeated, and those responsible should be held accountable and face the consequences of their actions.”
Highlighting the significance of respect between faiths, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar emphasized that the temple attack offends not only Hindus but also dishonours the Sikh Gurus. “By attacking the temple, they are not only disrespecting Hindus but also dishonouring the Sikh Gurus. The ten Sikh Gurus dedicated their lives to protecting temples and preserving Sanatan Dharma. Historically, Hindu families have stood with the Gurus, even giving family members to fight against injustice, terrorism, and extremism. To disrespect the Sikh Gurus and their mission is profoundly unfortunate and unacceptable.”
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar concluded by appealing to the public to respond thoughtfully to these challenging events. “This incident reflects a grave lack of ethics. In these challenging times, I urge everyone to remain calm, exercise restraint, and practice patience.”
