Haryana Violence: Following the racial violence that broke out two days ago, Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and gave him an update on the situation in Haryana.
FIRs, Detentions, and Suspects in Gurugram’s Communal Violence
The authorities have 15 First Information Reports (FIRs) relating to the event in Gurugram as of Wednesday at 11 a.m. The overall number of suspects in prison has increased to 30 following the arrest of eight people and the detention of 22 others, according to the Gurgaon Commissioner of Police. 90 out of the 116 people apprehended following the event have been detained, according to Haryana Police DGP PK Agrawal in an interview with ANI. “Apart from the incident that occurred in Gurugram mosque, some fire incidents also occurred in Sohna and Badshahpur and strict actions are being taken at these places as well,” he added.
Gurugram Violence Under Investigation
According to DGP PK Agrawal of the Haryana Police, the Centre has dispatched 20 paramilitary companies. 14 of which are stationed in Nuh. Additionally, 28 state police companies have been stationed around the state. The four guys who were detained in connection with the violence in Gurugram have appeared in court and been placed on judicial remand. Anil Vij, the home minister, called the violence a “well-planned” conspiracy and ordered an investigation on Tuesday while the opposition leaders criticised the Manohar Lal Khattar administration for failing to maintain law and order in the state. At least 40 complaints have been filed by the police against those involved in the incident, and more than 100 men have been held for questioning.
