Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan during which muslims observe fast from sunrise to sunset. During this 30-day period, Muslims offer prayers and wish for their family’s good health.
The date and time of Eid-ul-Fitr depend on the sighting of the crescent moon in the sky.
The crescent moon is first seen in Saudi Arabia, and it is only after that the rest of the world celebrates the festival. The date of Eid, hence, differs from country to country.
This year, it begins on the evening of May 13 and will continue until the evening of May 14.
