.Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm all over the country. The festival holds a great significance among the devotees. Worshipers bring home an idol of Lord Ganesha every year and worship him for 10 days. After which, the idol is then immersed in water, known as Ganapati Visarjan. Devotees offer sweet and delicacies such as modak which is believed to be lord Ganesha’s favourite. People visit each other and decorate homes to mark the day.
However, this year, the celebrations have shrunk as social distancing has become the new normal in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.
