Tripura: President Murmu flags off the first Kolkata-Agartala express train

President Droupadi Murmu: President Droupadi Murmu and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha flagged off the Guwahati-Kolkata-Guwahati train from Agartala Railway Station up to Agartala on Thrusday. Chief Minister Sahu and President Murmu also launched another leg of the Agartala-Jiribam-Agartala Jan Shatabdi Express to Khongsang in Manipur. President Murmu will be in Tripura and Assam from October 12 to 14.

Here is President Murmu’s schedule for taking part in various projects

President Murmu is scheduled to virtually inaugurate and will lay the foundation stones for various projects of the Union Ministries of Electronics and Information Technology, Health and Family Welfare, and the Government of Assam. She will also lay the foundation stone for the Supercomputer facility Param Kamrupa and the facility for the design and developmnt of high power microwave components at IIT Guwahati, the Medical College and Hospital at Dhubri and Zonal Institutes of the National Institute of Virolog (Madhya Pradesh). The President will attend a civic reception and cultural programme. The reception will be hosted in her honour at the Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati in the evening. On Friday, the President will virtually inaugurate and lay the groundwork for various projects of the Government of Assam and the Union Ministries of Road Transport and Highways, Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Railways.

100 existing high schools will be converted into high-quality educational institutions

Speaking at the event, President stated that a comprehensive education system is critical for the nation’s development and the advancement of our youth. Along with higher education, we should prioritise primary education. She was pleased to learn that in collaboration with the State Government of Tripura, the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region had launched the ‘Vidya-Jyoti Mission 100 under which 100 existing higher secondary schools will be converted into quality education institutions with state-of-the-art facilities.
