In order to assess the state’s election readiness, ECI also organised a review meeting in Himachal Pradesh last month. Participants included Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, IGs, DIGs, CAPF, and Nodal Officers from 12 districts.
The Congress is optimistic that the state would recover as a result of the ongoing “Bharat Jodo Yatra” and the election of a new president after almost 20 years. The Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP asserts that it would vigorously challenge the state’s conventional parties.
As soon as the schedule for the two states is revealed, the model code of conduct will take effect. This is a set of rules put forward by the election body for how political parties and candidates should behave during elections, specifically with regard to speeches, election day, polling places, portfolios, election manifestos, processions, and general behaviour.
