Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday said he is busy with the budget preparation for the state. He was expected to appear before the Central Investigation Agency in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case.
“I will visit the CBI office by the end of February, whenever they (CBI) will call me. Being the Finance Minister of Delhi, preparing the budget is very important, so I have requested to shift the date. I have always cooperated with these agencies,” said Sisodia.
Sisodia attacks BJP
Responding to the CBI’s summon, Sisodia said he would continue cooperating in the investigation. He said that the investing agency has nothing against him.
“CBI has called again tomorrow. They have used full power of CBI and ED against me. My house was raided, bank locker was searched, but nothing was found against me. I have made arrangements for good education for the children of Delhi. They want to stop me. I have always cooperated with the investigation and will continue to do so,” he said.
Manish Sisodia not an accused in case
Sisodia has not been named as accused in the charge sheet as the investigation against him is still being carried out.
“The further investigation in the case regarding the money trail and the larger conspiracy in the formulation and implementation of Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22 is still in progress,” an official said.
Speaking about the chargesheet, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had earlier said, “Today I can say, Arvind Kejriwal is hardcore honest, AAP is hardcore honest. I challenge BJP to tell if any of its party leaders is hardcore honest,”
Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal also asked the BJP if it could say the same about any of its leaders.
