IT team has conducted major raids on the whereabouts of a minister’s assistant in Telangana. In Nalgonda district, the Income Tax Department raided the house of the personal assistant of the Telangana Energy Minister and recovered cash worth lakhs of rupees. Sources said that during the raid, officials seized Rs 49 lakh in cash and several important documents from the minister’s assistant.
According to information, the IT department officials started the raids on Monday evening, October 31 and ended in the early hours of Tuesday. The raid took place at the house of Prabhakar Reddy, PA Subject of Telangana Energy Minister Jagadesh Reddy. Authorities raided Prabhakar Reddy’s house in Telangana’s Nalgonda district on Monday night. Officials ended the raid on Tuesday morning after confiscating Rs 49 lakh in cash and several important documents.
The raids took place at a time when by-elections are to be held in Munugode constituency of Nalgonda on Thursday, November 3. On 29 October, the Election Commission of India issued orders prohibiting Telangana Energy Minister Jagadesh Reddy from holding any public gatherings, public processions, public rallies, road shows and interviews and from making public statements in the media for 48 hours is also banned.
