Indian Administrative Service officer Tina Dabi on Wednesday took charge as the Collector of Jaisalmer district in Rajasthan. Before this, Ms. Dabi was posted in Jaipur. Upon taking charge of the new office, Ms. Dabi has shared the update along with a set of pictures on social media.
The IAS officer wrote on Twitter, “Joined as District Collector and Magistrate Jaisalmer today.”
Apart from Jaisalmer – where Tina Dabi took charge – collectors in Bundi, Kota, Alwar, Jaisalmer, Dholpur, Dungarpur, and Jaipur were also changed. A total of 33 IAS officers – including 7 district collectors – and 16 IPS officers, comprising 3 IGP and district SP each, were transferred to Rajasthan on Monday as per the PTI report status. Apart from this, 5 IAS officers were given additional charge of some other posts as the department of personnel transferred the officers through three different orders on Monday. The state government also removed a RAS (Rajasthan Administration Service) officer Narayan Singh Charan and put him under Awaiting Posting Order (APO) status.

Dabi is a 2016 Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination topper and the first scheduled caste (SC) woman to achieve the feat. Tina Dabi’s sister Ria is also an IAS officer, who bagged 15th place in the 2020 UPSC examination.
Dabi made headlines again this year after her marriage pictures with Dr. Pradeep Gawande surfaced online. Gawande, a 2013-batch IAS officer, and Tina Dabi tied the knot in a private ceremony in Jaipur in April this year. The couple hosted a private wedding reception in a hotel in Jaipur on April 22.
Tina, who was vacationing with her husband recently, shared pictures on Instagram a day earlier and wrote, “Becoming one with the waves.” In the first picture, Dabi and Gawande can be seen standing on the beach and looking at the waves with their back to the camera, while the other pictures show a view of their hotel and the beach.
