The Ahmedabad team of Directorate General of Goods and Service Tax Intelligence (DGGI) raided the premises of a big businessman and Gutkha King and his suppliers in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The raids have been going on for several days. During the raid, about 150 crore rupees have been recovered from the house of a supplier associated with the businessman.
This supplier supplies perfume and raw material to the gutkha trader. State Bank officials were called to count the notes, still the counting of notes is going on. According to GST officials, goods were being dispatched through fake invoices without generating e-way bills. These fake invoices were created in the name of fake firms.

According to GST officials, challans were created in the name of companies which do not exist. All challans generated in the name of fake companies are below Rs 50,000 to avoid e-way bills. The authorities have also seized 4 such trucks from outside the factory.
200 such fake invoices have been received from the warehouse of the trader without paying GST. On inspection of the factory, shortage of raw material was found.
