Income Tax Raids Unearth Rs 100 Crore Stashed in Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu’s Manager’s Hideout

Dheeraj Sahu: On the fourth day, the Income Tax Department kept conducting raids on Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu’s property. On the fourth day, Dheeraj Sahu‘s firm manager Bunty’s hideout in Sudapada, Bolangir, Odisha, yielded twenty bags stuffed with cash. These bags are thought to contain about Rs 100 crore.

SBI Bolangir Takes Charge

The State Bank of India branch in Bolangir has received all of the cash-filled bags so they can be counted there. In the past three days, close to three hundred crore rupees have been counted. On the fourth day, too, the counting continues. This indicates that 400 crore rupees have been recovered to date.

News agencies report that the counting will go until Sunday night even if more cash is not found. Let us notify you that the SBI main branch in Bolangir is currently counting 176 boxes containing seized notes following the recovery. 156 bags of notes were being counted through Friday. It hasn’t been formally confirmed yet, though. A 20-person Income Tax team from Hyderabad also travelled to Bolangir on Saturday in order to assist the Income Tax team. This team also includes analysts from the Income Tax Department.

Workforce Deployment

This group is capable of inspecting the computers and other electronic equipment that businesses use. This investigation may also turn up a tonne of additional documents. Fifty employees from different State Bank departments have been assigned to count the notes. The notes are being counted by them in two shifts. In addition to this, employees of the Income Tax Department are also occupied with note counting. Twenty-five machines are used for counting. We have acquired machines from a number of banks. Numerous machines malfunctioned even on Friday while counting. Owing to the Saturday and Sunday holidays, there are now more machines available. The notes are still being counted.
