India in the 11th round of military talks with China insisted on expediting the withdrawal of troops from the remaining parts of deadlock such as Hot Spring, Gogra and Depsang in eastern Ladakh.
It is said that the 11th round of Corps Commander level meeting started around 10:30 AM on the Chushul border area in the Indian territory on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh and the talks continued till around 10 PM.
The Indian delegation insisted on completing the process of withdrawing troops from the remaining deadlocked locations as soon as possible.
The tenth round of military talks was held on 20 February. Two days earlier, the armies of both countries agreed to withdraw their troops and weapons from the northern and southern sides of Pangong Lake. The talks lasted for about 16 hours.
The Indian delegation was led by Lieutenant General PGK Menon, the commander of the 14th Corps at Leh in India-China talks that began on Friday. Last month, Army Chief General MM Narwane said that the withdrawal of troops from the area around Pangog Lake has ‘reduced’ the threat to India, but not completely eradicated.
It is known that last year there was tension between the forces of India and China due to violent clashes around Lake Pangong. After this, both countries deployed thousands of troops on LAC. After several rounds of military and diplomatic level talks, in February, the two countries agreed to remove troops and weapons from the northern and southern part of Pangong Lake.
