In terms of religious minorities, India has been described as the safest country in the world. According to the Center for Policy Analysis (CPA) research on global minorities, India has been ranked number one in the list of 110 countries for inclusive measures towards religious minorities, reports The Australia Today.
According to this report, India is the best country for minorities. The way there is a special provision for cultural and educational promotion of minorities in the Constitution of India. There is no such provision in any other country. This has been revealed in the Global Minority Report.
India’s minority policy is brilliant
According to this research, India’s minority policy is based on an approach that emphasizes increasing diversity. The Constitution of India has specific and exclusive provisions for the advancement of religious minorities in culture and education. According to the report, there is no explicit provision in any other constitution to promote linguistic and religious minorities.
India has the highest level of acceptance of religious minorities among 110 countries with a population of more than one million in the Global Minorities Report, followed by South Korea, Japan, Panama and the US. Maldives, Afghanistan and Somalia are at the bottom of the list, with the UK and UAE ranked 54th and 61st respectively.
There is no ban on any other religious community in India
The report highlights how India, unlike other countries, has no restrictions on any religious sect. It has been written in this report that due to the inclusiveness of all religions in India and the lack of discrimination against each other sects, it can be an ideal model for the minority policy of the United Nations. He can use it in other countries. However, the report also notes that India’s minority policy often does not deliver the expected results as there have been reports of conflict between the majority and minority communities.
The report broadly highlights India’s minority policy which needs to be reviewed and re-examined from time to time. It further states that, if India wants to keep itself free from conflicts, it has to rationalize its approach towards minorities. The research also considers issues that various religious groups and denominations deal with internationally.
In this research, countries are classified based on how they treat minority religions and sectarians. how inclusive they are of religious minorities, and how they deal with discrimination against religious minorities through their laws and policies. The report also said that it was surprising to see that many nations that are considered backward and have weak economies had more progressive religious laws than many developed and wealthy nations.
