India Slams UK Lawmakers’ Farm Row Debate

On Tuesday, the Indian Foreign Secretary summoned the British High Commissioner to India, Alex Ellis, and expressed India’s displeasure, news agency ANI said.

The statement of the Indian High Commission said, “We are very sorry that instead of a balanced debate, false claims are being made without any truth or fact. The world’s largest functioning democracy and its institutions are being attacked.”

The statement said, “All the issues raised are an injury to the independent democratic institutions established in India. Once again it is also a matter of concern that by raising doubts on the treatment of minorities in India, alleged in ‘Kashmir’ The British-Indian community is being misled by claiming human rights violations. “
