Global Climate Clock Assembly: In an effort to break a global record, the ‘World’s Largest Global Climate Clock Assembly’ will take place on the grounds of the CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow, on Saturday. The ceremony at NBRI is a portion of a wider celebration of Earth Day that is taking place across India and many other nations.
Clock Will Show How Much Time Left Before We Reach To Global Warming
A DIY digital climate clock that shows how much time is left before we reach global warming of 1.5 degrees Celsius will be set up during the event. Ajit Kumar Shasany, the head of the Institute, will reveal a comparable clock on the NBRI campus on Saturday in front of a number of scientists and young students. A representative for the Institute stated that the clock would later be placed in a prime location where people could view the countdown to 2030, when the global temperature will surpass 1.5 degrees Celsius. Energy Swaraj Foundation, in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission (NITI Aayog), and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), is attempting to set a world record with the “World’s Largest Global Climate Clock Assembly” in support of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle For Environment) and the G20 event.

The present yearly rate of CO2 emission is roughly 43 billion tonnes
The organization claims that 10000 organizations, including universities, research centres, and government agencies, among others, intend to develop their own climate clocks and install them on the structures all over India, including NBRI. According to the Energy Swaraj Foundation, the present yearly rate of CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) emission is roughly 43 billion tonnes, whereas the budget for 1.5 degrees Celsius of global warming is 280 billion tonnes of CO2. The remaining time is calculated by dividing the first number by the second number. The time remaining for 1.5 degrees Celsius of global warming is around 6.5 years, which is getting shorter by the second. The climate clock displays this countdown.
