India: In the annual study done by the Centre, Indore has been named the cleanest city for the sixth year in a row. Surat and Navi Mumbai, thereafter, took the second and third position, respectively. The city of Panchgani in Maharashtra took top rank among those having a population of under a lakh at the same time.
The Annual Sanitation Survey of India results have been released. The 2022 President Draupadi Murmu Swachh Survekshan Award for clean cities has been announced. Madhya Pradesh has been ranked the cleanest state, according to the cleanliness survey. Chhattisgarh has been ranked as the second-cleanest state after this. The third-ranked state on this list is Maharashtra. Chhattisgarh took the top spot on the list of the cleanest states in the 2021 cleanliness report.
In addition, Varanasi and Rishikesh are in second and third position for the category of cities with more than 1 Lakh population, while Haridwar was awarded first place for being the cleanest Ganga city. Varanasi took top prize in the contest for the cleanest Ganga city earlier in 2021. Although Haridwar recently purchased this location.

For a sixth time, Indore was named the cleanest city
Regarding the cleanest city, the Centre’s annual survey has named Indore the cleanest city for the sixth consecutive year. Following this, Surat and Navi Mumbai took second and third ranks, respectively. When it comes to cities with a population under one lakh, Panchgani, in Maharashtra, came in first. The city of Patan in Chhattisgarh comes in the second position after this. Karad from Maharashtra has been awarded third place.

Let us remind you that Madhya Pradesh previously won first place in the West Zone in the top-performing state category for the Swachh Survekshan Gramin survey. Bhopal was the top district overall for Swachh Survekshan Gramin, while Indore came in third in the West Zone. Similarly, Madhya Pradesh won the Gramin 1.0 campaign and finished fourth in the Sujalam 2.0 campaign. Let us inform you that the Swachh Survekshan was launched by Central Government and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission. The exercise this year is concentrated on wastewater disposal and other factors.
