New Delhi: In the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, three people were aboard an Indian Army chopper when it crashed on Thursday. According to the Indian Army, all three injured personnel—two pilots and a technician—have been saved and transported to the Command Hospital in Udhampur.

According to the authorities, the accident happened in the Marwah region of the hill district. Rescue crews were dispatched right away to the scene of the incident, according to Kishtwar SSP Khalil Poswal. ‘Rescue squads were pushed into action. There is no mobile phone access due to the area’s remoteness and topography,’ Poswal continued. In a statement, the Indian Army said that an ALH Dhruv helicopter on an operational mission attempted to land cautiously on the banks of the Marua river in the Kishtwar area of Jammu and Kashmir after informing the air traffic controller (ATC) of a technical issue.

The Indian Army’s Northern Command said in a statement that the helicopter ‘apparently made a rough landing due to the undulating topography, vegetation, and inadequate landing place.’ The statement stated that a court of enquiry had been requested. The preceding two to three days have seen rain, snowfall, and overcast weather throughout the area.
