New Delhi: The military’s intelligence services strongly advised formations to make sure that their members were not carrying Chinese-made phones. This occurs in the midst of the continuing Line of Actual Control military standoff with China (LoC). The defence intelligence agencies’ advisory stated, “Formations and units are to sensitise their personnel through various forms and channels to exercise caution with such (Chinese) mobile phone devices.”
Spy agencies have given orders to units and formations
The warning was issued after incidents of spyware and malware were purportedly discovered in mobile phones with Chinese origin by agencies, according to reports. Spy agencies have given orders to units and formations to “carry out the shift to other phones against the phones,” as stated in the alert. Chinese phones from Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi, One Plus, Honor, Real Me, ZTE, Gionee, ASUS, and Infinix are among those sold commercially in India.
