Indian Navy has provided assistance to several merchant vessels in the Western Indian Ocean
In recent weeks, the Indian Navy has provided assistance to several merchant vessels in the Western Indian Ocean following attacks. Notably, earlier this month, the Navy thwarted a piracy attempt on an Iranian-flagged fishing vessel and rescued its crew.
Furthermore, the Indian Navy has been vigilant in protecting maritime security in critical sea lanes, including the North and Central Arabian Sea. As per information provided by the crew, it is estimated that there are approximately 25 pirates aboard the hijacked vessel. The Indian Navy’s operations to address the situation are ongoing.
