The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced that Indian nationals holding ordinary passports will now be eligible for visa on arrival at all ports of entry in the country. This new policy also extends to individuals who hold permanent residency or green cards from the United States, the United Kingdom, or any European Union country.
Visa Options and Extension Details
Under the new policy, eligible travelers will be able to obtain a visa on arrival for an initial period of 14 days, which can be extended for another 14 days. Additionally, there is an option for a 60-day visa that will not be extendable. Travelers will need to pay the applicable fees as per UAE norms. The Indian mission in the UAE, through a social media post on October 17, stated that the passports of eligible individuals must be valid for at least six months.
Pre-Approved Visa Facility Introduced by Emirates and VFS Global
Earlier this year, in February, Emirates airline partnered with VFS Global to offer a pre-approved visa on arrival facility for Indian passport holders traveling to Dubai. The initiative was aimed at easing the visa process and reducing waiting times for travelers. Emirates had promoted this service on social media, highlighting that it would help Indian customers skip queues upon arrival.
