Indian Passport– The latest Henley Passport Index for 2024 has been released, ranking India’s passport at the 82nd position. Indian citizens can now enjoy visa-free travel to 58 foreign destinations, including popular tourist spots like Indonesia, Maldives, and Thailand.
Top Rankings and Visa-Free Access
Leading the chart is Singapore, which boasts the world’s most powerful passport. Singaporean passport holders have visa-free access to an astounding 195 countries, securing its top position on the index. France, Italy, Germany, Spain, and Japan follow closely, each offering visa-free entry to 192 destinations, making them the second most powerful passports.
Countries including Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Sweden share the third position, allowing visa-free travel to 191 countries. The United Kingdom, New Zealand, Norway, Belgium, Denmark, and Switzerland are ranked fourth, with their passports granting visa-free access to 190 destinations. Australia and Portugal round out the top five, providing visa-free travel to 189 countries.
US Passport Falls in Rankings
In a notable shift, the United States has slipped to the eighth position, with American passport holders now enjoying visa-free access to 186 countries.

A total of 34 countries are ranked within the top 10 most powerful passports, highlighting a competitive landscape in global mobility. The Henley Passport Index continues to serve as a vital tool for understanding international travel freedoms and restrictions, influencing both individual travel plans and broader geopolitical considerations.
