Pipeline can move one million metric tonnes of high-speed diesel

According to the MEA, the pipeline can move one million metric tonnes of high-speed diesel annually (MMTPA). At the beginning, it will provide high-speed diesel to seven areas in northern Bangladesh. The functioning of the India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline will establish a long-term, dependable, economical, and environmentally friendly method of transferring HSD from India to Bangladesh and will further strengthen cooperation in energy security between the two nations, according to the MEA.

India’s Neighbourhood First Policy

India’s Neighbourhood First Policy, which was still one of the pillars of its diplomacy throughout this time, is consistent with this most recent initiative. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina personally sat down with Prime Minister Modi during a state visit to India in September. Both leaders expressed happiness at the close links between their countries that are based on similar values of democracy and pluralism as well as long-standing historical and brotherly ties.
