India’s Rising Defence Prowess! Balakot airstrikes, Surgical strikes and a thriving defence sector

Balakot airstrike

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh made an emphatic proclamation on Saturday that India’s defense capabilities have been demonstrated to the world. Highlighting the Balakot airstrikes and the surgical strikes, Singh contended that India is equipped to guard its interests both within its boundaries and beyond. In an event held in Rohtas district, Bihar, Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolute approval of the military operations. The decision was made in meetings that were attended by only a handful of individuals, reflecting Modi’s decisive leadership.

A Leader for All Seasons: Modi’s Response to Global Crises

Singh also commended Prime Minister Modi’s proactive leadership during international crises. Modi’s successful negotiation with Russia, Ukraine, and the United States ensured the safe return of Indian students caught in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, drawing the world’s admiration.
The government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic was another feather in Modi’s cap. Singh lauded India’s accomplishment in inoculating all its citizens, a feat that stands unique worldwide. India’s humanitarian stance was further exhibited by its efforts to export vaccines to countries in need, embodying the ideal of ‘vasudhaiv kutumbakam’ (the world is a family).

Make in India’ Revolutionising the Defence Sector

Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative has dramatically transformed the Indian defence sector. The Defence Minister reported that the defence exports had skyrocketed from a mere Rs 900 crore to a staggering Rs 16,000 crore. The government is determined to escalate this further to Rs 35,000 crore within the next two years.
Defence manufacturing in the country has reached a commendable mark of Rs 1.10 lakh crore, signifying India’s progression from being largely import-dependent for its defence requirements.

Indian Culture Gaining Global Recognition

Towards the end of his address, Singh touched upon the newfound respect for Indian culture globally. The shift from referring to India as ‘Bharat’ is becoming more commonplace, marking the decline of anglicisation. He concluded by expressing confidence in India’s economic growth, highlighting the possibility of India ranking among the top five economies by 2027.

With India standing strong, not just in defence, but also in economic and cultural fronts, the future promises a well-respected nation, shedding anglicisation and moving towards its roots.
