IndiGo flight makes emergency landing in Karachi but fails to save ailing passenger

An IndiGo flight that was bound for Dubai was forced to make an emergency landing in Pakistan’s Karachi, reportedly. As per the news agency ANI, the emergency landing was requested by one of the passengers onboard. The passenger felt sick suddenly and requested to deboard.

“Doha bound IndiGo flight diverted to Pakistan’s Karachi due to a medical emergency onboard,” ANI quoted an Airline official saying.

IndiGo flight’s emergency landing

An IndiGo flight on Monday morning made an emergency landing at Pakistan’s Karachi after a passenger suddenly fell sick. The passenger has been identified as a Nigerian national. While the plane did make a stop at the airport as requested by the passenger, the individual passed away before flight made the landing. 

Indian plane lands in Karachi 

A spokesperson for Pakistan’s Civil Aviation industry confirmed that an Indian airline made an emergency landing after a passenger fell sick mid-flight. He said that the captain of the flight had sought for an emergency landing which was approved by the concerned authorities in Pakistan. The Air Traffic Controller said that the permission was granted upon pilot’s request.
