Iqra Hasan Viral Video: Protests erupted at various places in India over a controversy ignited by a statement made by Mahant Yeti Narasimhanand Saraswati. Tension flared at Ghaziabad on Friday night when people from a particular community came out and staged demonstrations outside the Dasna Devi Temple condemning Narasimhanand’s remarks. The Mahant was later arrested by Ghaziabad police and detained at the police line to prevent further deterioration of the situation. Now Iqra Hasan has responded to Yeti Narasimhanand’s words and expressed her views in a viral video.
Yeti Narasimhanand’s Controversial Remarks Ignite Outrage
Yeti Narasimhanand, speaking from the stage at an event, triggered a controversy when he stated that instead of burning the effigies of Ravana and Meghnad, people must burn the Prophet Mohammad. His inflammatory statement earned him much criticism and protest from the Muslim fraternity. Members of AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) announced plans to burn an effigy of Narasimhanand at the district headquarters in Ghaziabad.
Matters were further fueled to the fire by Anil Yadav, popularly known as Chhote Narasimhanand, who issued a video statement wherein he threatened to retaliate. He said if effigies of Yeti Narasimhanand were burnt during the protest, his men would burn effigies of Ali and Mohammad on Dussehra. With this sort of provocation, the place was disturbed in the late night hours around the Dasna Devi Temple. They reached the temple gate, but the police forces near the sanctum had already dispersed the crowd and averted possible violence.
Iqra Hasan Strongly Condemns Yeti Narasimhanand’s Remarks
In response, Kairana MP Iqra Hasan condemned Yeti Narasimhanand in the strongest terms and called him a “hypocrite” and asked why the Mahant repeated the inflammatory things on camera and demanded action against this incident and similar ones in a viral video posted on X (Fornally Twitter) by WeUttarPradesh. She asked the center and state to book him under hate speech laws UAPA and NSA so nothing of this sort happens in the future.
Has promised to take the case to Parliament and even the Supreme Court if justice is not delivered. In the meantime, there has been an intensified security cover for the temple, with Ghaziabad police remaining present there.
