Israel Palestine Conflict: Israel’s ambassador, Naor Gilon, has asked for lighting a “Diya of Hope” as a symbolic act of hope in honour of the Israeli captives held by Hamas since the October 7th event, as the Indian holiday of Diwali draws near. Gilon draws a comparison between lighting Diyas on Diwali, the celebration of Lord Ram’s return, and asking people to light Diyas in the expectation of their loved ones’ safe return. He has requested that the hashtag #DiyaOfHope be used while sharing this act on social media.

IDF Unveils Captured Weapons Cache

In a related development, pictures of several weapons found on Hamas militants during operations on October 7th have been released by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF). Hand grenades, explosives, rifles, rockets, missiles, explosive belts, and RPGs are some examples of these weaponry. The tragic loss of innocent life has been emphasised by the IDF, which has brought attention to the use of these weapons in strikes against Israeli citizens.

Israel’s Ongoing Security Control in Gaza

Following the fight with Hamas, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that Israel will continue to have security control over the Gaza Strip indefinitely. There are still unanswered concerns about Israel‘s post-war plans for security and governance in Gaza. On October 7, a big group of terrorists broke across the Gaza border, causing deaths, kidnappings, and a major impact on the surrounding area. This marked the start of the battle.
