Indian Space Agency ISRO (ISRO) is preparing to launch its third Moon mission. Chandrayaan-3 will be launched in June next year. This is an important mission for exploration on the surface of the Moon. ISRO is also preparing for the first test flight of the ‘abort mission’ for the country’s first manned spacecraft ‘Gaganyaan’ early next year. ISRO chief S. Somnath has said that the ‘Chandrayaan-3’ (C-3) mission will be launched in June next year through the Mark-3 launch vehicle.
Significantly, during the Chandrayaan-2 mission in September 2019, the lander ‘Vikram’ crashed on the lunar surface, after which India’s first attempt to land on the moon was unsuccessful. ISRO chief said that Chandrayaan-3 mission is ready. It is not a replica of Chandrayaan-2. The engineering of this vehicle is completely different. We have made it very strong, so that the same problems do not come to the fore.
According to ISRO, it has made many changes in Chandrayaan-3. In case of failure of any of the equipment, the rest of the equipment will make up for it. The rover designed for Chandrayaan-3 could better calculate the altitude of the journey as well as protect itself from such places where there is a danger.
About the ‘Gaganyaan’ mission, the ISRO chief said that ISRO will conduct six test flights before taking humans into space. He said preparations for the ‘Gaganyaan’ mission are going on “slow and steady.” Under this mission, it will also be tested whether ISRO has the ability to rescue the crew in bad conditions. After the success of the abort mission and unmanned test flight, the Indian space agency can send humans to space by the end of 2024.
In August this year, ISRO showed the first glimpse of Chandrayaan-3. Chandrayaan-3 was to be launched at the end of the year 2020, but due to the Corona epidemic, this mission was delayed. It is a lander-specific mission, with no orbiter. This is because the first orbiter of Chandrayaan-2 is working properly. The Chandrayaan-3 mission is important because it will be ISRO’s second attempt to land on the Moon and will improve the path of interplanetary missions.
