The security forces have launched a massive crackdown on terrorists in Kashmir in the last 12 hours. The Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday (March 12, 2022) morning said that four terrorists were gunned down in three separate encounters in the Pulwama, Ganderbal and Handwara area of Kashmir.
One of them has been identified as Pakistani JeM commander Kamaal Bhai, who was active since 2018.
Another terrorist linked to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was gunned down after an encounter broke out in the Serch area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal. Police said that the counterterrorism operation in the area is underway. One LeT terrorist has been killed in an encounter in Nechama, Rajwar area of Handwara.
Police have cordoned off the area and are looking for more terrorists. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, said the security forces had launched anti-terrorism operations at four-five locations.
“We had launched joint #operations at 4-5 locations yesterday night. So far 2 terrorists of JeM including 01 #Pakistani killed in #Pulwama, 1 terrorist of LeT killed each in #Ganderbal & #Handwara. Encounters over in Handwara & Pulwama,” he said in a tweet.

Meanwhile on Friday, a sarpanch was shot dead in the Audora area in the Kulgam district, officials said. The sarpanch, who was identified as Shabir Ahmad mir was shifted to the district hospital in Kulgam where he was declared dead.
