J&K: Authorities in the Jammu and Kashmir district of Anantnag asked Mehbooba Mufti, the president of the PDP, and seven former lawmakers to leave their residences in the government within 24 hours or else action would be taken, according to officials.

Mufti received an eviction notice for her “Fairview” home
Last month, Mufti received an eviction notice for her “Fairview” home in the highly secure Gupkar neighbourhood of the city.
According to the officials, Mufti and other residents of the government apartments at Housing Colony at Khanabal in the south Kashmir district were served with an eviction notice on Sunday on the orders of the Anantnag deputy commissioner.

Other recipients of eviction notice
They said that in addition to Mufti, ex-MLAs Mohammad Altaf Wani, Abdul Rahim Rather, Altaf Shah, and Abdul Kabir Pathan, as well as ex-MLCs Bashir Shah and Choudhary Nizamuddin, received notifications.
The notifications informed the tenants that they would face legal repercussions if they did not quit the property within 24 hours, according to the officials.
