J&K News: In Jammu and Kashmir‘s Poonch district on Thursday, heavily armed terrorists ambushed two Army vehicles, resulting in the deaths of five soldiers and the injuries of two others, officials told news agency PTI. According to officials, the attack happened at Dhatyar Morh between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz at approximately 3:45 p.m.
Dhatyar Morh in Poonch District
Terrorists targeted the Dhatyar Morh location in Poonch district, according to sources who spoke to India Today TV. The Army vehicles slowed down at this point because of a blind curve and uneven road. According to sources, the terrorists ambushed the two Army vehicles at Dhatyar Morh by positioning themselves atop a hill between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz.
Terrorists’ Pre-Attack Surveillance
According to sources, terrorists may have conducted a reconnaissance at the location where the two Army vehicles—a truck and a Maruti Gypsy—were ambushed. Three or four of them were thought to have been involved in the attack. At Dhatyar Morh, the terrorists ambushed the Army vehicles as they slowed down at the blind curve.
Escape of Perpetrators
According to additional sources, security personnel had retaliated, but terrorists were still able to escape that area. The wounded have been brought into a medical facility. The ambush was attributed to the People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), a wing of the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), which is based in Pakistan.
