J&K News: Massive in scope, Indian security forces killed three terrorists on August 28, 2024, in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. That efficient operation was supposed to take place by the great coordination between the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Border Security Force.

This operation was conducted based on creditable intelligence received over the last few days regarding a likely infiltration attempt by terrorists from across the LoC-a line that never existed-aimed particularly at the Tangdhar and Machhal sectors. With due confirmation by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, a joint operation was launched.
Operation Details
The ambushes were laid by the security forces in the targeted areas in the evening of August 28. At about 8 pm, a group of terrorists trying to infiltrate through Machhal, bumped into the ambush party. Another encounter took place in the area of Tangdhar at about 9 pm.
These well-conducted operations led to the neutralization of two terrorists in Machhal and one in Tangdhar, besides one reported seriously injured in the Tangdhar encounter. The operations were conducted under most unfavorable conditions, including difficult terrain and adverse weather.
Success Appreciated
A senior Army officer praised the security forces for conducting the operation with utmost efficiency, adding that courage and devotion beyond ordinary limits of human tolerance had been shown. It shows commitment to restore peace and security by Indian forces in the region continuously.
The operation did not allow the potential threat to materialize and, in the process, showcased the capability and coordination of the Indian security apparatus in effectively addressing terrorism.
