Join CFI slogans spotted at Karnataka’s Shivamogga

Slogans ‘Join CFI (Campus Front of India)’ were spray painted on several walls in Karnataka’s Shivamogga on Monday. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai called it an ‘act of desperation’ after banning the organization and assured action against those responsible at the earliest.

Such writings calling to join CFI were recently seen on the walls in various places of the city.

The CFI, the student wing of the PFI (Popular Front of India) – was banned by the Center in September after nationwide raids, when links to terrorist activities emerged.

Case has been registered at Shiralkoppa police station

Shivamogga SP said on this matter. A case has been registered at Shiralkoppa police station in Shikaripura taluk in connection with painting of slogans ‘Join CFI’ on walls at 9 places in Shiralkoppa town of Shivamogga. The search for the accused is on.

During a conversation with the media, CM Bommai said, ‘Police has already taken action, this kind of writing on the walls is a desperate act. After banning all these organizations, they have become desperate and want to create confusion in the society, which I condemn.’

Talking to reporters, he said that the government will take strict action against the people behind this incident.

Police recently took cognizance of the walls and on the basis of information suo moto filed a case under the Karnataka Public Places (Prevention of Defacement) Act and for disturbing the harmony.

PFI Ban By Govt

Eight organisations, including the PFI, Campus Front of India, were banned for five years by the central government in September.

In September, the Center declared the PFI an ‘unlawful association’ and banned it for the next five years. The Karnataka High Court last week upheld that ban.
