In Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, once again there has been an encounter between terrorists and security forces, in which a terrorist of Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist organization has been killed.
Kashmir Zone Police said that the slain terrorist has been identified as Kamran Bhai alias Hanis, who was very active in Kulgam-Shopian area.
According to the information, the encounter started in Kapreen area of Shopian. Jaish terrorist was killed in joint action of police and security forces. Police said that the search operation is still going on in the area as there is a possibility of presence of other terrorists.
Earlier on November 9, three suspected members of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) were arrested in Jammu and a large quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered from them. The police had informed that the terrorist module of Jaish-e-Mohammed has been busted. Arms and ammunition including three AK rifles, one pistol and six grenades have been recovered from an oil tanker in Narwal area of Jammu.
He said the module was tasked with carrying weapons sent from across the border by a Pakistani master to Kashmir.
Terror module busted in Kupwara
On Thursday, 6 accused have been arrested in Kupwara district by busting the terrorism financing and recruitment module. Kupwara Police has busted the terror funding and recruitment module operating in North Kashmir with the help of 21 Rashtriya Rifles and 47 Rashtriya Rifles of the Army, said Kupwara Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Yugal Manhas. After receiving several information about Bilal Ahmed Dar, a resident of Chirkot area of the district, the army and police launched a joint operation to nab him and arrested him.
The game of ‘terror funding’ under the guise of NGO
Bilal Ahmed Dar revealed during interrogation that he, along with five others from different areas of North Kashmir, was involved in a terror funding gang under the guise of a fake non-governmental organization (NGO) named ‘Islahi Falahi Relief Trust’ (IFRT). Which was running, which promised to provide financial assistance to the poor and needy familieshad claimed.
Manhas said, “Bilal Ahmed Dar was actively involved in fund raising for terrorist activities and helped in recruitment by holding secret meetings in different villages. After this revelation of Dar, five other people were arrested in this connection.”
