Judicial custody extended for Sahil Gahlot and five other accused in Nikki Yadav Murder case by Delhi Court

A Delhi Court has extended the judicial custody of Sahil Gahlot and five other accused, which includes his father and two cousins in the Nikki Yadav murder case for two weeks. Sahil was arrested by Delhi Police on February 14 after he was accused of killing his live-in partner and stuffing her body in a fridge. Later on other accused were also arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police and sent to judicial custody.

Accused were produced in the Dwarka court after the completion of their judicial custody and Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Saniksha Gupta extended their judicial custody till March 20. However apprehension of case diary has been expressed by Advocate Annirudh Yadav appearing for the accused Lokesh who moved an application seeking marking of the case diary.

The court will hear this application on March 13. The court had remanded Sahil Gehlot to 12 days of judicial custody after seven days of police custody on February 22.

Delhi Police interrogation has stated that Sahil had revealed that the diseased was asking him not to marry another girl because both of them had got married in a temple in year 2020 and Nikki Yadav was his wife and not live-in partner.

Nikki had pleaded Sahil not to get married with another girl , with the match was fixed by her family. Police also stated that this instigated the accused and his family members to hatch the conspiracy and remove the diseased from their way.

Sahil executed the plan to get rid of Nikki on the day of his marriage ceremony

On the day of his marriage ceremony i.e. February 10, Sahil had executed the plan to get Nikki murdered with other co-accused.

Sahil Gahlot was granted five days remand by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police to interrogate him and to enquire about the route which he took he executed the crime.

In the meantime the Investigation Officer (IO) had submitted before the court the alleged offence is to be ascertained. Further the IO had submitted that the accused is to be taken to places where he went with the diseased. The IO also submitted that some searches has to be made and recovery of CCTV footage has to be made.
