They also held a rally to fix the ‘mosque like’ structure of the railway station. Following this, the railway authorities have ordered to repaint the station from green to while. Police personnel are also deployed at the railway station to avoid any law-and-order issue as the repainting works have started.

Similar controversy in Mysuru

Earlier in November, bus stop in Karnataka’s Mysuru was dragged into a controversy for its domed-like structure. BJP MP, Pratap Sinha threatened to demolish the bus stop if the structure not changed.

Pratap Sinha said, “I’ve seen it on social media. The bus stand has three domes, a big one in the middle and two small ones beside it. That’s a masjid (mosque) only.”

National Highway Authorities of India also ordered to fix the bus stand’s structure.

On November 15, NHAI gave a 3-day deadline to demolish the shelter. “If the competent authorities fail to take action, NHAI will take action as per the Highway Administration Act 2003,” the notice stated.

However, later local body removed two domes out of three.
