The festival’s preparations start a few days in advance. Women shop for jewellery, shringar (accessories), puja supplies including Karwa diyas, matthi, henna, and extravagant puja thalis. On this day, women wear distinctive clothing like as the traditional saree, suits, or lehengas.
What is the history of Karwa Chauth?
According to ancient texts, the Gods and the Asuras were once engaged in a war. The wives of all the Gods became anxious as a result of the devils’ dominance over them during the war. To ensure the safety of their husbands’ lives, they appealed to Brahmadev. In order for the Gods to win the war, Brahmadev commanded all of the spouses to observe a Karwa Chauth fast.
Following Brahamdev’s instruction, every wife performed the Karwa Chauth fast on the Chaturthi date of Krishna Paksha in the Kartik month. Karwa Mata was able to save the Gods’ lives as a result. Since then, all women observe the Karwa Chauth fast in a bid for the long life and good health of their spouses.

Karwa Chauth 2022: Pooja
After having a bath on the day of fasting, ladies vow to observe the fast for the sake of their husbands and the welfare of the family. The optimal time to perform Karwa Chauth Puja, in accordance with Vratraj, is during Sandhya time, which starts after sunset.
Women worship Maa Parvati during the Puja by either painting Chauth Mata and Goddess Gaura on the walls or by adhering printed images of Chauth Mata to the wall. Women also prepare several dishes on the occasion of the festival. Women also dress up in a bride-like attire.
The women in the group tell the tale of Karwa Chauth Mahatamya, also known as the magnanimous of Karwa Chauth fasting, as they do the puja. After that, wait for the moon to rise after the pooja is over.
Then, sight the moon with a sieve and then by using the sieve, look at your husband and break the fast by first offering water and sweets to the moon. Ultimately, offer the same food to your spouse, after which, the fast gets completed.
