The golden decorating of the sanctuary Sanctorum of the Kedarnath temple was finished this morning, according to Ajendra Ajay, president of the Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee.
He claimed that these last three days have been spent on this project.
A six-person delegation from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Central Building Research Roorkee, and IIT Roorkee visited Kedarnath Dham and examined the temple’s sanctum sanctorum. Following an expert report, the application of gold lining to the sanctum sanctorum of the Kedarnath temple started.

Ajendra Ajay, the president of the temple committee, claimed that 18 horse mules were used to deliver 550 layers of gold to Kedarnath three days ago.
He stated that 19 artisans had applied gold layers while being supervised by two ASI officers.
