Kisan Union will organize ‘Kisan Sansad’ Jantar Mantar, Delhi from today during the current monsoon session of Parliament to show their dissent against the three contentious farm laws. This event will be held every day on behalf of the farmers. During this demonstration, 200 protesting farmers from Singhu Border will arrive on the occasion to participate in the program. Delhi Police has allowed farmers protesting on three new agricultural laws to protest on Jantar Mantar with certain conditions.
A statement has been issued by the Delhi Police stating that the farmers have been given permission on Jantar Mantar with certain conditions. Delhi Police said that more than 200 farmers from Samyukta Kisan Morcha will not participate in this program. While six more people will be from Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti.
Delhi Police has put in place extensive arrangements to ensure that the protest programme remains peaceful,” according to the statement.”After multiple rounds of negotiations with farmers bodies SKM and KMSC, and on being assured in writing that they would remain peaceful and with the approval of DDMA, the farmers have been permitted to protest at Jantar Mantar with limited numbers not exceeding 200 persons for SKM and six persons for KMSC from 11 am upto 5 pm daily,” the Delhi Police said in its statement.
The protesting farmers will reach Jantar Mantar by buses from Singhu border. They have been advised not to march in view of the Covid restrictions. Regarding the demonstration, the Delhi Police said that solid arrangements have been made for the peaceful demonstration of the farmers.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has given special permission for demonstration to a maximum of 200 farmers till August 9. On the other hand, Samyukta Kisan Morcha said that if the monsoon session of Parliament ends on August 13, then their protest on Jantar Mantar will also continue till August 13.
