In the land-for-jobs in railways case, a Delhi court on Wednesday granted bail to RJD chief Lalu Prasad, his wife, former CM Rabri Devi, and their eldest daughter Misa Bharti.

Lalu and his family were charged with criminal conspiracy and in contravention of the Prevention of Corruption Act in the CBI chargesheet. The special CBI court has called all of the accused to appear on Wednesday.
When Lalu served as railway minister from 2004 to 2009, the CBI claims that 12 people were appointed as “substitutes” in six different railway zones in place of seven land parcels.
The CBI investigation suggested, at least on the surface, that Lalu, as railway minister, acquired financial advantage in the form of land in the names of his family members in exchange for the appointment of successors to Group-D jobs in various railway zones.
