Lok Sabha Election 2024: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has unveiled its four Lok Sabha candidates for Delhi and one for Haryana following a recent seat-sharing agreement with the Congress. Under the pact, AAP will contest four out of the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi.

AAP’s Lok Sabha Candidates

  1. East Delhi: Kuldeep Kumar, legislator from Kondli
  2. New Delhi: Somnath Bharti, representing Malviya Nagar in the assembly
  3. South Delhi: Sahi Ram Pahalwan, legislator from Tughlakabad
  4. West Delhi: Mahabal Mishra, former Congress MP
  5. Kurukshetra (Haryana): Sushil Kumar Gupta, former Rajya Sabha member

Criteria for Selection

AAP leader Sandeep Pathak, who announced the candidates, emphasized that winnability was the primary criterion for their selection. He highlighted the nominees’ accessibility to the public, along with their active involvement in their respective areas. The decision was made after a meeting of the AAP’s Political Affairs Committee chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Future Plans

Gopal Rai, another AAP leader, mentioned that the party has also announced Lok Sabha candidates for Bharuch and Bhavnagar seats in Gujarat. Furthermore, AAP will soon reveal its nominees for the upcoming national elections in Punjab. The party is participating in the Gujarat elections as part of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA).

The announcement of candidates reflects AAP’s strategic approach and preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
