Lok Sabha Election 2024: Voters are shaping the future of the country by casting votes in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, which are taking place across 13 states and union territories for 88 seats. A noteworthy 25.1% turnout had been registered by 11 am, with participation percentages differing throughout areas.

Regional Variances in Voter Turnout
Among states with the highest voter turnout, Chhattisgarh and Tripura, with over 35% registered by 11 am, are in the lead. Maharashtra on the other hand fell behind and had the lowest turnout—near 18.8%. In contrast, for same 88 seats at the same time for the 2019 elections, the polling percentage was somewhat higher at 25.6%.
States Going to Polls Tomorrow
There are a lot of seats in different states that are up for grabs tomorrow. 20 seats are up for grabs in Kerala, Karnataka has 14, Rajasthan has 13, Maharashtra has 8 and Uttar Pradesh has 8. Elections for 7 will also be held in Madhya Pradesh, while elections for 5 seats each will be held in Assam and Bihar. In addition, Manipur, Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir will each have 1 seats in the race, while West Bengal and Chhattisgarh will have three seats apiece.
Prominent Contestants in Focus
Numerous well-known candidates are running in the election battlegrounds, including Rahul Gandhi, Shashi Tharoor, Arun Govil, Hema Malini, and Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar of the BJP. Moreover, DK Suresh, the brother of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and HD Kumaraswamy, the former chief minister of Karnataka, are also in the race.
Previous Election Results
In the 2019 elections, the UPA won 24 seats, while the NDA won 56 of the 89 seats. Remarkably, as part of the delimitation process, boundaries have been redrawn for six of these constituencies.
