Lucknow News: Struggling with the losses and defaulters in the city, the UP Power Corporation Limited has come out with a new rule for the users. Next time if the electricity bill is due for a month, then the UP Power Corporation is liable to cut your electricity connection according to the new rule. Earlier the Power Corporation used to give a time limit or wait till the bill exceeds the limit of Rs 10,000. But the Madhyanchal Vidhyut Vitran Nigamis now struggling with revenue recovery has taken this step.
Pay your bill on time or lose your Power Connection
If your electricity bill is 1000 rupees and you fail to submit it till the due date then your connection will be cut without informing. According to sources, time limit of Rs 10,000 has been abolished because the Power Corporation has been incurring losses for quite some time. So the board has decide to come up with this new rule to compensate with the losses. The board has prepared a list of Defaulters and they will sent notices soon .
Power Board will shortlist the name of Defaulters
The Board will also investigate the areas with 50 percent of line loss. According to sources, the board has found out that the defaulters are present in each block of Lucknow, who uses electricity but when it comes to pay bills on time, they keep dragging it until they are notified.
