Lucknow News: Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla’s life has been marked by a relentless pursuit of goals and a commitment to service. At the age of 14, during the Kargil war, his journey began. Two years later, he secretly applied for the National Defence Academy (NDA) without informing his parents. Fast forward 18 years, and Shubhanshu, now 38, has once again embarked on a mission – the Gaganyaan Mission, India’s first crewed space mission.
A Journey from Kargil to Gaganyaan
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Shubhanshu’s name, along with three other astronauts, for the Gaganyaan Mission. Shubhanshu’s dedication and clarity of purpose are evident in his life choices, from joining the NDA as a teenager to pursuing a space mission without informing his family.
Despite his achievements, Shubhanshu remains grounded, fondly known as ‘Gunjan’ by his family and neighbors. His journey from a 14-year-old high school student during the Kargil war to a participant in India’s ambitious space mission exemplifies determination and a commitment to serving the nation.
