Madhya Pradesh News: According to the party official, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to unveil the “report card” of the Madhya Pradesh government in Bhopal on Sunday (August 20). Additionally, he will deliver a speech at the BJP’s working committee meeting in Gwalior, the political stronghold of Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Amit Shah to unveil report card on CM’s tenure
State BJP Media Cell Head, Ashish Agrawal, stated, “Shahji will come here (Bhopal) in the morning of August 20 to release the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government’s report card at a function. Following that, he will travel to Gwalior to chair and address a working committee meeting.”
As per the report, arrangements have been put in place for the participation of BJP MLAs, MPs, district presidents, and general secretaries in the Gwalior meeting. The gathering is anticipated to host around 1,500 party members, and it is expected that the meeting will culminate in the formulation of the party’s strategy for the forthcoming elections. This assembly holds considerable importance as it marks the concluding convening of the state’s working committee prior to the impending polls in Madhya Pradesh, slated for the year-end.
Observations from political analysts reveal that the BJP is making efforts to reinforce its influence in the Gwalior and Chambal area. This move is particularly notable following the party’s loss in the Gwalior mayoral elections to the Congress last year, which marked the conclusion of the BJP’s uninterrupted 57-year rule, as stated in the report. This visit signifies Shah’s second visit to the state within the recent span of three weeks. On July 30, he engaged with booth-level workers in the Indore district.
Last Madhya Pradesh Election
In the 2018 state assembly elections, the Congress triumphed by capturing 26 out of 34 seats in the Gwalior and Chambal region. Notably, Jyotiraditya Scindia was aligned with the Congress during that period. Subsequently, following Scindia’s departure to the BJP along with his steadfast supporters, the Congress’ performance faltered. In the Gwalior and Chambal bypolls held in November 2020, the Congress could only secure victory in 7 out of 19 seats.
