Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde will be visiting Uttar Pradesh today to offer prayers at Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya. UP CM Yogi welcomes Shinde in Lucknow
Eknath Shinde and other Shiv Sena leaders flew down to Lucknow on Saturday. From there, they will be leaving for Ayodhya. In Lucknow, Shinde was welcomed by his UP counterpart Yogi Adityanath. Marking the Maha CM’s welcome in UP, Shiv Sena put up big banners with his image, in Ayodhya.
Before leaving for Lucknow, Chief Minister Shinde said in a press conference, “We will be going to Ayodhya to seek Lord Ram’s blessings on April 9. The call of faith and belief prompted us to undertake this visit. We will perform the Aarti. I still remember that Dharmveer Anand Dhigana (Anand Dighe, who the Maharashtra CM considers his mentor) had sent a Karsevak to Ayodhya with a silver brick. So, we have old bonding with Ram Lalla and will be visiting the temple also.”
Shinde to spend nine hours in Ayodhya
Shinde is expected to spend nine hours in the temple town. On Friday, he had flagged off a special train carrying Shiv Sainiks to the temple town. Shinde’s spokesperson Viraj Mulaye, speaking to news agency PTI, revealed that the Maharashtra CM will also meet seers of Ayodhya and address a press conference.
“The Maharashtra chief minister will be arriving in Lucknow on Saturday and will visit Ayodhya on Sunday, where he will offer prayers at the Hanumangarhi temple and the Ram temple. He will also see the ongoing construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple and perform the evening ‘aarti’ on the banks of the Saryu river,” he said.
