As the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha began, Jagdeep Dhankhar, visibly disturbed by the opposition’s continuous sloganeering, addressed the House with a candid admission. He revealed that in recent days, he has been under relentless attack, facing criticism and personal insults both inside and outside the Parliament. He stated, ” Main apne aap ko yahan baithne mein saksham nahi pa raha hoon, isliye kuch samay ke liye yahan se jaa raha hoon.”

When the opposition attempted to bring up the subject of Vinesh Phogat’s Olympic disqualification, the scene became more heated. When Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge attempted to bring up the issue, Chairman Dhankhar refused to pay attention, which infuriated the other members.
Derek O’Brien, the leader of the TMC, persisted in his attempts to bring up the subject, but the Chairman prohibited it, warning to have him removed from the House if he persisted. The opposition parties chose to vacate the Rajya Sabha in protest after this severe warning caused a stir.
