Malikarjun Kharge only for name’s sake, everyone knows who holds cards in Congress: PM Modi snubs Gandhis

Malikarjun Kharge: Ahead of Assembly Polls in Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Gandhis of Congress president disrespecting Mallikarjun Kharge. While announcing the disbursement of the 13th installment of more than 16,000 crore for farmers in Belgavi, Prime Minister Modi said, “I want to remind people how the Congress dislikes Karnataka… insulting the state’s leaders is part of its old practise.” Assembly Elections in Karnataka will take place in May.

Gandhis hold the cards, says PM Modi

According to the Prime Minister, Kharge serves only as a symbolic leader for the Congress alleging that it is Gandhis who hold the cards.

“Mallikarjun Kharge has served the public in whatever way possible… I was disheartened to see how the most senior leader, the president of Congress, has been disrespected by them… The world knows who has the remote control”.

Mallikarjun Kharge reacts

In a fiery response, Mallikarjun Kharge said, “Under whose umbrella your “best friend” looted everything from the sky to the underworld of the country? We are the Congressmen standing under the tricolor, who made the country independent by defeating “Company Raj”, and will never allow the country to become “Company Raj”. Tell me, when will JPC be held on Adani?” read a rough translation of his tweet in Hindi.

Mallikarjun Kharge is first non-Gandhi to head the Congress in more than 20 years. He was was chosen to the position last year.
