Congress: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024 as well as the upcoming assembly elections this year, the Congress has trained its new staff. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge are among a total of 39 members who have been named to the new working committee of the Congress.
G-23 Members Anand Sharma and Shashi Tharoor Secure Spots in CWC
Many of these G-23 leaders, including Anand Sharma and Shashi Tharoor, who were upset with the Congress, have also been given positions in this working committee at the same time. The CWC had been anticipated for a while. The largest committee in the Congress that makes decisions is this one. However, compared to the previous committee, not much has changed in this current one. There have been a series of meetings over the past few months prior to the list’s release. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi attended many talks with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. The CWC includes a total of 39 leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, AK Antony, Ambika Soni, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, Digvijay Singh, Charanjit Singh Channi, Anand Sharma. Apart from this, 32 permanent invitees, 9 special invitees, Youth Congress, NSUI, Mahila Congress and Seva Dal presidents have also been given place.
Congress Working Committee Welcomes New Faces and Reshuffles Leadership
The working committee of the Congress now includes new faces like Sachin Pilot, Shashi Tharoor, Ashok Chavan, and Deepak Bawaria. The CWC also includes Deepa Das Munshi, Nasir Hussain, and Gaurav Gogoi. Alka Lamba, Supriya Shrinate, and Pawan Khera are among the special invitees. Prior to this, Sonia Gandhi’s group was working with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. There haven’t been many changes made to the Congress Working Committee since the last committee was announced.
