Manipur Violence: In the early hours of Saturday morning, armed terrorists attacked a group of people in the Naransena region of Manipur‘s Bishnupur district, killing two members of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and wounding two more, according to police.
Militants Strike CRPF Outpost
According to authorities, the event occurred between midnight and 2:15 am. The servicemen were hit by a device that was detonated inside the security forces station by the armed groups. The individuals were from the 128 Battalion of the CRPF, which was stationed in the Naransena region.
“The militants fired indiscriminately from hilltops, targeting the camp. It started around 12.30 am and continued till about 2.15 am. The militants also hurled bombs, one of which exploded in the outpost of CRPF’s 128 battalion,” a senior police officer told news agency PTI.
Remembering CRPF Sub-Inspector N Sarkar and Head Constable Arup Saini
CRPF sub-inspector N Sarkar and head constable Arup Saini were named as the deceased. Inspector Jadav Das and Constable Aftab Hussain are the injured people. The senior police official said that Hussain and Das were injured by splinters. The India Reserve Battalion (IRBn) camp needed protection, therefore CRPF soldiers were sent to provide it. According to authorities, there was a big hunt going on to discover the attackers.
