CBI arrests Manish Sisodia
After several hours of questioning, the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) senior leader was taken into custody. This arrest marks a significant development in the case. After the Delhi government’s new Excise Policy for 2021-22 was scrapped on July 31, 2022, several senior AAP leaders and their close associates have come under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The Delhi government decided to revert to the old excise regime in effect before November 17, 2020, which prompted Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena to suggest a CBI probe into the ‘alleged’ procedural violations and rule flaws in the implementation of the excise policy.
CBI raided Manish Sisodia’s house
